For an Insomniac, You Don’t Write Much

December 3, 2008

It’s 2 a.m. my time.

I’ve spent the past 3 hours mucking about on the Internet, poking in corners, commenting here and there, obsessively refreshing Twitter.

I haven’t addressed my email Inbox the way I should.  I haven’t finished the dozen-odd half-written posts in my draft folder.  I haven’t managed to do anything much except for notice that my feet are freezing and yet my torso is overly warm while repeatedly telling myself ‘you really should go to bed now.’

Tomorrow, not unlike today, yesterday, and so many days before it, I plan on getting up at a reasonable hour. Getting some work done. Being productive. Getting some goals set.

Wish me luck. Because this year? I’ve been reminding myself a lot of a college freshman with no one making sure she gets to class before noon.  This has got to stop.  Something’s gotta give.

Tomorrow? New leaf.  Hopefully a good one.  Hey, I’ve got a few weeks left before I have to cram for finals before the holiday break, right?

G’night.

You are cracking me up because I was just saying the same thing about myself last week! Crazy how we can spend so much time refreshing that darned Twitter. :)

    College freshman?
is that with or with out the twinkies?
    Memo to me
    memo to me
wake the sleepy head and get her motivated
    before noon.
( referring of course to myself!)
    :P

@Sarah – it would be funnier if I could get myself to break the habit! ;)

@Sorrow – no twinkies! And actually, if you recall – I was pretty good my freshman year – up until I slowed down enough to get sick! ;) Thank heavens you called me that night or who knows what would’ve happened!
Still owe you for that one! ((hug))

I have four kids and way to much to do but I still haven’t broken the habit of staying up too late on the computer while doing absolutely nothing important. I’m new to twitter though and just getting started so I’m not even sure what refreshing twitter means. Wow, I’m really feeling old…… Still glad those finals days are over. Good luck!

@Sharla – If there’s anything I can help you with on Twitter – just email me – my address is on the contact page. When I say ‘refreshing it’ I mostly access twitter thru the website – which means that I go to twitter.com/home and view it, I refresh the page to see new posts! :)

Don’t feel too old tho, I’m 42 – age is a matter of mind!

    I can so relate!

Now that I no longer work out of my house, my Twitter time is greatly minimized.

I have to get up at 5:45 every day and I just can’t stay up as late as i used to…especially since I have to shower and commute with my new job. It’s tough, disciplining oneself, especially when you are the adult. But if i don’t I would sleep past thru my alarm or even worse, crash on my way into work…both not very fun things to do!

You can do it, tho! I know you can :-)

Got something to say?
