I think the reason why "get fit, healthy, lose weight" fails so much as people's resolutions is because it is not mutually exclusive. When it is thought this way, what happens is that when the person does not lose weight, even though they are leading a much healthier lifestyle, they will become discouraged and go back to their artificial/junk food ways.

Everyone's bodies are different. When I stopped eating fast/processed food and started running, my weight didn't change a bit but I felt a ton better physically and mentally so I would never go back to my sloppy eating habits. However, I never expected my weight to change when I began the healthy eating either.

So, imo, better health and weight loss are not mutually exclusive.

I'll cheer you on! I am dealing with pain/productivity issues right now so I know what you're talking about.

I'd miss you if you stopped twittering though! Balance Balance Balance. I'm looking for it too.

Gee, that could have been my list! Time management is always a challenge, and this year part of what I need to do is adopt a better discipline for working and getting ideas and stories out there. I've got about 10 posts in draft format of half captured thoughts that could use some work, never mind the new ideas all floating in. I need to find a new rhythm that works for me. Bringing order (as you listed) is always helpful to breathing new energy into a space or project. I appreciate you sharing your list, I'm still working on mine! 2009 is already feeling like it's going to be a good year. Thanks!

I've yet to do my 2009 post. I'm busy doing recaps of 2008. Not that anyone likely cares but it gives me a reason to blog. Ha.

Great goals that we should all consider adding to our lists. As a matter of fact, most of those are unofficially mine already. I especially love the idea of travel now and can't wait to do more. Perhaps you and I will meet in person again this year, maybe even more than once.

Cheers to you and your efforts this year. May we encourage and support each other throughout.
Yours,
Todd

Love the fact that you're listing your goals. You put them in writing so there's no going back now! Just be a little more specific like, "I'm going to run 3 miles Tues and Thurs and lift weights on Mon. & Fri." You know what I'm talking about. I find that if I put more specific goals down, I do better.

Good luck in '09!
