I love this post, Lucretia! I can relate on the morning thing! (I overslept till 10:30 one morning at Type A Mom Conference! :)

I also live in a beautiful mountain area, and I get the same epiphanies sometimes. I take it for granted so many times, but if I would just let my eyes see...

Anyway, I love your disclaimer, too! (Are you sure the Heavenly Host didn't hire you to market the clouds?)

PS, we love Mario Kart, too!

I've never been a morning person, but the older I get (51), the more I seem to be interested in finding out what I've been missing all these years. I enjoy getting up many mornings to go out for a run, revel in the sunrise as I drive to school (I'm a teacher), and actually feel good about it all. Sometimes I'm even awake before the alarm, which bordered on horrifying at first. I obviously can't sleep in the way I used to so my hand has been forced! I get more accomplished some days, and feel more peaceful and relaxed, even with less sleep, which is rather strange. I'm liking this change and I can finally appreciate what other people find compelling about being a morning person! Old dogs, new tricks....I'm all for it! :-)

I hate mornings. It almost kills me to rise and get my son to school. Most mornings, at the ripe age of 6, he gets up with his darn alarm clock all perky and cheerful, gets dressed, plays a Wii game or two and then drags me out of bed in time to get him to school...people must think I am a horrible person...I happen to look at it like....I'm doing us all a service my sleeping so that I don't hurt anyone .......I hate mornings...I'd like to stay up til about 3 AM, sleep til about 9:30 or even 10 and then start my day...people say that's fine, if I would just adjust it, I'd get use to mornings...but. ahem....this body is 40 years old and I've lived in it long enough to know what needs to be ahem adjusted.....ahem Now, stay off the stairs for a few more hours

Good to meet you last night (and here you are on my RSS feed!).

I find myself doing that deep breath ocassionally - it's so easy to get caught up in racing around that we don't look very often!

And as for Mario Kart - it is great - and I'm glad you endorse (cough, cough) like it! ha ha!

Yeah. I totally get every single word of this. I prefer morning to start much later than actuality lets it, but there are those moments when I realize that it's not even eight o'clock and I have three things checked off the To Do List and my kids are dressed and breakfasted and playing quietly....

...okay, so the 'quietly' part, I totally am dreaming...but still...
